Székelyhíd, Romania – September 2024
Check out the video summary of the program created by the Ér Hangja Association:
During the youth exchange, the national teams held various themed presentations, but there was also time for sightseeing in Oradea. Another interesting activity was when participants conducted interviews with locals about their views on environmental protection and eco-consciousness. This hands-on activity provided insight into community perspectives, and participants were pleasantly surprised to find that many locals already practice environmentally friendly habits, such as recycling and bottle return programs. Based on the interviews, participants edited videos to create concise and impactful films that reflected their findings and the environmental awareness of the residents of Székelyhíd.
During various workshops, the young people held a brainstorming session where they proposed creative ideas aimed at promoting sustainability in their home countries. At the event, Mr. Zoltán Bokor, a forestry official from the Székelyhíd Forestry Office, gave a professional presentation on forest and wildlife protection, as well as the relationship between these issues and different media channels. As a result of the presentation, the young people gained a deeper understanding of sustainable forestry practices, the complexities of timber harvesting, and the critical role of timing and management in conservation efforts.
The international partnership formed during this exchange provided a platform for sharing experiences and strategies that will continue to be valuable for youth work across Europe. The project successfully created a dynamic and inclusive environment that supported diversity, learning, and growth for all participants. Over the past few days, it has strengthened the young people’s belief that anyone can take an active role, and everything they learned here lays a strong foundation for a future in which they are ready to tackle environmental challenges, transform their communities, and shape a greener, more conscious society. Upon returning home, the young people took with them not only memories of the experiences but also the inspiration and tools to bring about positive change in their own communities, contributing to a more sustainable future for us all.
A total of 7 youth from Vojvodina represented the FLOW-E.R. Association in this program.
